Rev. Carlton L. Phillips, Pastor

Reverend Carlton L. Phillips is the youngest of five children born on September 27, 1982 in Orlando, Florida to Reverend C.L. Phillips, Sr., and Mrs. Eula T. Phillips.

At the age of six, Reverend Phillips accepted Christ and was baptized under the leadership of his father.

At the tender age of 16, Pastor Phillips heard the voice of God and was called in the gospel ministry and after months of observation by his father was licensed to preach at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport, Florida. Reverend Phillips sought to further his education and enrolled in the legendary “School of the Prophets” Selma University in Selma, Alabama.

While at Selma University, several honors and awards were bestowed upon him. He served as the president of the Selma University Ministerial Union, and was honored as a National Collegiate Social Scientist award winner. He made the Dean’s List and was inducted into the National Honor Society. He was also awarded the Tom Joyner H.B.C.U. General Motors Scholarship.

On January 10, 2010, Reverend Phillips was called to pastor the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama having served three congregations prior.

Under his spirited and energetic leadership, Pastor Phillips has led Friendship to experience explosive growth physically and spiritually. To date, the ministry is comprised of over 30 active ministries with hundreds of weekly visitors in addition to its members.

In addition to his duties as a Pastor, Teacher, and Leader, Pastor Phillips continues to further his education. Pastor Phillips continues to be a distinguished public speaker and evangelist who travels extensively throughout the country, “Spreading the good news”. However, more significant than Pastor Phillips’ many accomplishments and credentials, his greatest joy is his genuine love for the people of God. He is the proud Father of two daughters, Zion and Carlee Phillips.
